A Few Interesting Posts on Malaria

Posted by Simon Adebola on April 24, 2009

I came across these interesting posts on Malaria. As you know, there are over 297 million Malaria cases anually and about 1 million of these lead to deaths, about 90% of which are in children under 5 years. The World Health Organisation together with its partners are waging an all out war to reduce this huge and debilitating disease burden. Half of the world’s population are at risk. The current challenges include expanding drug availability, increasing the availability and uptake of Insecticide Treated Nets (ITNs), and finding a vaccine to aid prevention of the disease.
